SABiDU Privacy Statement

The protection of your personal data is of utmost concern to SABiDU®. In these terms and conditions on data protection SABiDU® would like to inform you about how ensure privacy in our service.

1 Definitions

The following terms used in these Terms and Conditions on Data Protection shall have the following meanings:

  • "Personal Data" shall mean all data and/or information about your profession or your person.
  • "SABiDU® Websites" shall mean all websites on which SABiDU® provides the SABiDU® Services.

  • "SABiDU® Services" shall mean all registration based services provided by SABiDU® on the SABiDU® Websites.

  • "SABiDU® Members" shall mean all registered users of SABiDU® on the SABiDU® Websites.

  • "Registration Data" shall mean the Personal Data you are obliged to make available to SABiDU® in the registration process for the SABiDU® Services (mandatory fields).

  • "Profile" shall mean the SABiDU® Website page where the Personal Data you have made available to SABiDU® is displayed in accordance with your specifications and your consent.

2 Basic Principles of SABiDU for handling your Personal Data

SABiDU® strictly adheres to the following basic principles in the protection of your Personal Data:
  • SABiDU® shall collect, process and use your Personal Data in accordance with the laws and statutes on data protection of the Federal Republic of Germany and those of the European Union.

  • SABiDU® shall use your Personal Data solely to provide you the SABiDU® Services on the Internet for which you have registered. SABiDU® will never pass your Personal Data on to any third party, neither for advertising, nor for marketing for any other purposes.

3 What does SABiDU know about you, what do you give SABiDU and SABiDU Members permission to do?

These terms and conditions supplement the General Terms and Conditions for using SABiDU®.

SABiDU® refers to the service provided subject to these General Terms and Conditions and/or SABiDU® global infostructures ButzbachReiberg GbR.

The protection of your personal data is of utmost concern to SABiDU®. In these terms and conditions on data protection SABiDU® would like to inform you about how ensure privacy in our service.

3.1 Registration Data

In order for the SABiDU® Services to function, SABiDU® needs to collect and process certain elements of your Personal Data in the course of the registration process. First of all, this consists of the following data:
  • User name

  • Password

Your password and/or your user name are never visible to any SABiDU® Member at any time. SABiDU® shall never disclose or pass your password and/or your user name on to any third party.

Furthermore, you will need to fill out the following Personal Data in the course of the registration process (mandatory fields):

  • First name, surname, form of address

  • valid email account

  • valid cellphone number

The email address is needed to send you text messages that are legally obligated. Your cellphone number is needed to send you a confirmation to your end device after successful registration.

3.2 Voluntary Data

If you wish, you may provide additional information about yourself apart from the mandatory data on a voluntary basis (hereinafter referred to as "Voluntary Data"), to allow other SABiDU® Members to get to know you better.
 

3.3 Your Profile and Contact Management

SABiDU® shall never disclose or pass your password and/or your user name on to any third party. In some cases, due to law or reason, we have to make an exception. This is the case if support-members access user accounts on their requests to diagnose the problem or if the account needs to be accessed due to legal reasons We continuously enhance the SABiDU® services and their functions and activate them for the use of SABiDU® members. Again, it is our concern to offer those services free of charge and it is our opinion that target-oriented advertisment will be accepted by our members. In order to use the advantages of SABiDU®-services, a membership is mandatory, which means that if you would like to communicate via SABiDU®, both parties need to have a SABiDU®-account. As a SABiDU® member you can invite friends and colleagues to become a member of SABiDU®, anytime. Please note that for the the transmission of those invitations, we will implement security mechanisms. This is to avoid that mass mails or invitation mails reach  false or incorrect adressees.

3.4 Target-oriented information and advertisments in SABiDU

Our SABiDU® services are to a large extent free of charge. And we would like to continue to offer you these services for free. Like all of the big free web services, we use certain areas on the SABiDU® websites for advertisements. For we believe that relevant and target-oriented information and advertisement is also in the interest of our customers, instead of being haressed with banners and popups. This is the result of numerous surveys. Information and advertisements are not regarded as a necessary evil, but are rather welcome if they are target-oriented and of interest to the respective user. This is the reason why we would like to offer you a free service including an obvious added value for you by using advertisements and information. These advertisements are clearly marked as "advertisements" and will be shown outside the main area of the respective user. We believe to meet the basic requirements because each member can administer their preferences and therefore can immediately influence the incoming information and advertisements.

We accept that our opinion on an ideal value-added service and on advertisement cannot be shared by everyone. At the same time, we believe that everyone can decide for themselves which services to use or not to use.

SABiDU® is still at a test stage. Yet, users and large surveys have proved that there are no concerns regarding privacy policy in our procedure.

3.5 Visibility of your Profile to Non-Members of SABiDU

Your profile and personal information are not displayed to third parties. We update and check our security measurements regularly to secure your data in the best way possible .

4 Cookies

After you have logged in to the SABiDU® Services with your user name and password, SABiDU® uses cookies in order to identify you during the course of your session. A cookie will be stored on your computer. Upon the termination of your session the cookie will be automatically deleted if you have not saved it permanently.

5 User profiles / Tracking

On the SABiDU® websites, anonymised data can be stored and collected for marketing and improvement reasons to create anonymous user profiles. The data is not used to personally identify the visitor of the website and is not merged with data about the anonymised user profiles.

6 Data security

Any personal data is only transferred in encrypted form . The server's identity is  fixed and protected from the access of third parties. Efficient algorithms verify that the data reaches its addressees completely and unmodified.

6.1 Disclaimer

On the SABiDU® websites, information which are continuously selected and checked are displayed. Yet, we would like to inform you that we cannot guarantee the accuracy and completeness as well as the recency of the information presented here. This is especially the case for links of third parties whose contents we are not responsible for.

The content of the website is protected by copyright. So is the the design of the website. No part of the contents is to be reproduced, printed out, translated, modified in digital form, filed, or to be made accessible to third parties under a different URL without formal written permission by SABiDU® global infostructures Butzbach Reiberg GbR.

The SABiDU® symbol is a registered trademark of SABiDU® global infostructures Butzbach Reiberg GbR. Other user-, product- or company descriptions can be trademarks by third parties. The use of these trademarks is not allowed, if such a step is not formally being permitted in written form by SABiDU® or the respective owner. If you would like to contact us via email, please note that, due to the general technical conditions on the internet, we cannot ensure confidentiality for these messages. Emails can be modified by third parties or can get lost on the internet.

6.2 Withholding of Data

Like any other web service provider, we want to ensure a high protection against the loss of data. In order to reset data and user profiles in case of errors and system failures, SABiDU® performs backups of the contents of user profiles. During that process, your data is temporarily stored in our Backup systems, but is still protected from the access and insights of third parties.

7 Log-Files

Each time you access a website from the SABiDU® Websites, SABiDU® will save the following data in a log file (the so called "server log"):

  • Your IP address (by which your computer can be clearly identified),

  • The name and IP address of the computer requesting the respective page from the SABiDU® Websites (the so called "remote host computer"),

  • The time, status, and amount of the transferred data, as well as the Internet website from which you have reached the requested page of the SABiDU® Websites (the so called "referrer")

  • The product and release information from your Internet browser (the so called "user agent").
SABiDU® therefore uses a standardized procedure. SABiDU® uses the data from this log file in anonymous form without reference to your person for statistical purposes. In doing so, SABiDU® may analyze on which days and at which time the SABiDU® Services are particularly frequented and how much data volume is created on the SABiDU® Websites. Furthermore, by using the log file, SABiDU® can identify defects on the SABiDU® Websites, such as defective hyperlinks or program defects, and thus continually improve the quality of the SABiDU® Websites. SABiDU® does not attribute the website demands stored in the log file to specific individual users. However, SABiDU® reserves the right to review the log files from the last known IP address of a SABiDU®-Member where SABiDU® has reasonable cause to believe that the member is using SABiDU® Services in breach of contractual agreements or the applicable legislation. In doing this, SABiDU® is protecting other SABiDU® Members, the safety of SABiDU® Members’ data, as well as SABiDU® Websites and the SABiDU® Services. There is no linking of the page views and uses stored in the server log with individual persons.

8 Changes to these Terms and Conditions on Data Protection

SABiDU® reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions on Data Protection, in the event that this becomes necessary due to gaps in these Terms and Conditions on Data Protection identified after their release, or in the event that it becomes necessary with respect to additional or amended services provided by SABiDU®. SABiDU® will notify you of any amendments to these Terms and Conditions on Data Protection by email to the email account you provided to SABiDU® in the course of your registration.
